Cryptography provides solution to the problems of confidentiality, integrity, authentication and

key management. The solutions can be implemented in different kinds of applications. These

applications may be standalone or running on the World Wide Web, the Internet. The major

problem is the selection of a cryptographic package according to the needs and available resources

of the organization. The best cryptographic package doesn’t always prove to be a good solution. If

the package doesn’t meet its intended goal of providing security with given available resources then

it certainly is going to lead to severe problems.
