The objective of this chapter is to define the problem of image denoising and describes about the condition in which image denoising is important. Also discuss about performance measures to evaluate image denoising results. Image processing is an important step in clinical image diagnosis. Medical images are acquired and analyzed to identify the occurrence of abnormalities like tumor, fracture and blocks. Most of the medical images are affected by different types of noises during acquisition, storage and transmission.
