Many authors have proposed effi cient models to predict cut-ting forces in milling operations. Some experimental resultsare available for steels [2–15], aluminium alloys [14–18], zinc alloys [19,20] or aeronautical alloys [6,21–23]. However, the factors which infl uence these results are rarely discussed.
