Gasoline prices averaged $3.767 a gallon in the Los Angeles-Riverside-Orange County area in October 2013, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Regional Commissioner Richard J. Holden noted that area gasoline prices were down 73.2 cents compared to last October when they averaged $4.499 per gallon. Los Angeles area households paid an average of 21.5 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh) of electricity in October 2013, similar to 21.1 cents per kWh in October 2012. The average cost of utility (piped) gas at $1.175 per therm in October was more than the $1.052 per therm spent last year.
